MSC 2021 Group A: RSG Malaysia vs RSG Singapore

MSC 2021 returns after a one-year hiatus, and the group stage draw has already produced an intriguing storyline for Group A. The two Resurgence (RSG) squads—RSG Malaysia and RSG Singapore—were drawn together, joined by IDONOTSLEEP (IDNS) from Thailand. This setup creates an immediate cross-border rivalry between the two RSG teams, as they represent different regional MPL champions and runners-up respectively.

Group A Teams and Recent Form

RSG Malaysia enter as MPL–MY champions after a dramatic comeback victory over TODAK in the grand finals. Their roster includes Izanami, Kaizer, Leixia, Lolealz, Syno, and Zacus. Leixia, known for a dominant Lancelot play, will be a key player to watch. RSG Singapore finished as runners-up to EVOS SG in the inaugural MPL–SG season, fielding Ly4ly4ly4, Sana, SynC, Diablo, and Fosa. The Singapore squad is heavily versed in Guison-centric strategies, adding a distinct tactical layer to their matches.

IDNS, the only Thai representative, bring a storied history as the 2017 MSC champions. The team has maintained roster stability, featuring Loysss, Hasaki, FlashXz, Renita ZanRi, IZYBUNNY, and Ramella. Ramella stands out as one of the few female players competing at the top level. IDNS have endured past tournament struggles—eliminated in playoffs after their 2017 title—but now aim to reclaim glory on the MSC stage.
