DESCRIPTION:Titre complet de la retraite : Éveiller le guerrier en soi : le Lojong comme motivation au quotidien pour atteindre l’éveil. \nLe Lojong ou “entrainement de l’esprit” est une partie très profonde des enseignements du Mahayana ; il nous montre comment transformer les problèmes en opportunités\, afin de nous développer spirituellement. En associant la pratique de Tchenrezi (le Bouddha de la compassion) à la méditation sur la célèbre prière du Lojong\, “Les huit versets de la transformation de l’esprit” de Guéshé Langri Thangpa\, cette retraite nous donnera une occasion précieuse d’acquérir des outils pour faire face aux challenges de la vie les plus importants.  \nLa retraite intégrera aussi la méditation de tonglen (prendre et donner)\, des exercices utilisant les 59 slogans du maitre Atisha\, ainsi que des échanges. Ces différentes pratiques nous fourniront une structure solide pour pratiquer la voie des bodhisattvas après la retraite. \nCette retraite est ouverte à tous et il n’y a pas de prérequis pour participer.  \nVénérable Amy a un don pour rendre les enseignements bouddhistes très concrets et applicables à la vie de tous les jours. Incorporating Chenrezig (the Buddha of Infinite Compassion) practice along with meditation on the famous lojong prayer\, The Eight Verses of Mind Training by Geshe Langri Thangpa\, this precious retreat experience can help lend support to life’s greatest challenges. Discussion and tonglen meditation will be included along with some exercises using Master Atisha’s 59 slogans. These different practices can serve as a powerful blueprint for practicing the bodhisattva path in the future. \nThe retreat is open to all levels and there is no prerequisite.  \nVenerable Amy has a gift to make Buddhist teachings very practical and explain how to use them in daily life. The total of all the recitations will be offered to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on the 6th of July for his 90th birthday.\nThe motivation of this initiative is to offer these mantras for His Holiness long\, healthy and stable life\, for the fulfillment of all His projects\, for world peace/universal compassion and to fulfill Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s wishes by offering our practices to His Holiness.\nThis initiative will be launched for Losar\, which this year falls on the 28th of February\, so you can start tracking your recitations from the 1st of March.\nTo join\, it’s very easy\, just write your name and at the end of each month write your total monthly mantra recitations in this spreadsheet\, this spreadsheet can be accessed from computers only\, not phones.\nPlease write the total of mantras you recite each month. For example if you recite one mala per day in March\, (if your mala has 108 beads) that would in total be 108 x 31 = 3 348\, then write 3 348 in the March column beside your name\, if you continue with your recitations\, do similar for the following months. You can join one\, two\, three or all four months. Make sure that by the 30th of July you have written down the total of your mantra recitations. During this time the topics covered will be: Exploring the Mind and Philosophy\nExploring the Mind\nExploring the View\, Tenets and the Middle Way\nExploring the Fundamentals of Reasoning and Debate\nExploring the Sutra Grounds and Paths\nWhat do I need to know?\nClasses will take place on Thursday evenings.\nYou’ll access recordings of classes and materials through our learning platform.\nYou’ll learn through a combination of classes\, review sessions and discussion sessions.\nYou’ll learn through a combination of in-person and online learning\, or exclusively online\, according to your preference.\nOfficial course certification from FPMT is available.\nBe part of a supportive community of fellow student-practitioners.\nWhat will it cost?\nWe rely on the generous donations of students to run our centre\, so we provide recommended donation tiers to help students gauge what level of monthly donation they can offer to support the costs of running the course.\nHowever\, we run all our Buddhist programmes on a Generosity Model. This means nobody is turned away due to lack of funds. All are welcome to enrol\, regardless of financial circumstances.\nAccess to the course materials will be available to students for 1 year after the end of the course.\nHow do I join?\nRegistration for the 2024-5 course is no longer open. Registration is not required. \nWe schedule prayer sessions throughout the year\, offering a continuous opportunity for anyone\, including visitors\, to take part in practices that focus on bringing the precious benefit of accumulating heaps of merit and eliminating negativities. All our sessions are conducted in English\, with some chanting in Tibetan.

It helps us: \nCultivate mental resilience\nDevelop compassion\nShift focus from external blame to self-reflection and accountability\nReduce anxiety\, increase inner peace\, and develop healthier behavior overall.\n“When we train our mind\, we stop blaming others for our difficulties. Instead\, we recognize that our own afflictions are the real enemy\, and we cultivate love and compassion even in challenging situations.” – Ven. Thubten Chödron \nThis weekend will be a thorough exploration of the profound Lojong (mind training) text ‘The Eight Verses of Mind Transformation’ written by the Tibetan Buddhist master Geshe Langri Tangpa along with a practice of the 1000-Armed Chenrezig\, the Buddha of Infinite Compassion. Both visualization as well as the mantra are included. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is said to be an emanation of this form of Chenrezig and it’s a particularly powerful practice to do in these challenging times. In a world where polarization\, individualism and fear for others become bigger\, it teaches us to see others as fellow human beings rather than enemies\, fostering peace through personal transformation. \nVen. Amy Miller will help us expand our view beyond our own boundaries of self-reflection and will also help us develop a greater sense of compassion for ourselves and others.  \nThis weekend is also a great supplement to the Lojong teachings she will be leading on Tuesdays in April and May.  \nThis full weekend includes lodging at our retreat center and wonderful vegetarian meals.  \nYour teacher\nVenerable Amy Miller is a beloved spiritual teacher\, practitioner and Buddhist nun in the Tibetan tradition.
