SUMMARY:Shadow Work with the 16 Guidelines with Craig Mackie - Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom
DESCRIPTION:Shadow Work with the 16 Guidelines with Craig MackieShadow Work with the 16 Guidelines: Uncover\, Transform\, Heal:-\nJoin Craig for a special three-part immersive series designed to go deeper into transforming the shadow side of good quality.\n*Participants should be familiar with either the 16 Guidelines or Transformative Mindfulness Methods (TMM).\n March 17\, 24\, 31 (Mondays)\n⏰ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM EST (Toronto\, Canada)\n Live on Zoom\nCourse Journey:\nSession 1: Preparing for transformative work\nconnecting with a healing space\ngrounding in compassion and wisdom\nacceptance of pain and the root causes of suffering.\nSession 2: Approaching and transforming our relationship to the shadow:\nwelcoming the negative aspects into a healing space\nencountering resistance\, introducing wisdom and compassion\nasking for help and letting go.\nSession 3: integrating and healing transformed the shadow:\nwelcoming and encountering resistance\,\napplying and integrating new insights and feeling\nnext steps and embodying transformed shadow.\nWhy this course?\nSo often in mindfulness practices\, for participants and facilitators alike\, deep discomfort and distress can arise. Having a toolkit to encounter stress\, paint\, trauma\, childhood wounds or resistance of any kind is essential.\nThis course will introduce participants to a framework and practices that will help them meet blockages to their highest embodied potential through transformative mindfulness.\nThe 16 Guidelines are an indigenous set of embodied virtues that originate from Tibet. In their modern iteration they comprise a framework that can be universally accessed through our own experiences and inner wisdom. Laid out in 4 wisdom themes of how we Think\, Act\, Related and Create Meaning\, each corresponding 4 guidelines can be used to meet challenges and transform suffering.\nWith each good quality also comes the potential for a shadow to arise – something that resembles the qualities but is not (semblance)\, a misuse of the quality (unskillful) that is tainted by unclear motivation or malicious intention\, and the opposite of the quality (contra). Each of these shadow aspects has the potential to be transformed through introspection and healed by introducing wisdom and compassion.\nTransformative Mindfulness Methods provides the perfect framework to dive into transforming a specific shadow that may arise.\nIn this workshop\, participants will be encouraged to pick a specific quality with which they wish to have a deeper relationship. Over three weeks they will participate in transformative work through visualization\, group discussion and didactic instruction.\nWho is this for?\nThis course is ideal for those familiar with either the 16 Guidelines or Transformative Mindfulness Methods and who want to:\n✔️ Work with inner blockages preventing their full potential\n✔️ Gain new tools for healing emotional distress and resistance\n✔️ Deepen their understanding of shadow work & transformation\n Pay What You Can (Suggested: $100 CAD)\n Receipts available for psychological services/social work\n Register: craig@essentialchange.net\nJoin Craig in this powerful and supportive space for deep transformation. ✨\nFacilitator:\nCraig Mackie –Craig is a registered 16G facilitator and trainer\, born in Ottawa\, he has a BA in Developmental Psychology/Philosophy from the University of Alberta\, an MA in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa and an MSW from the University of Toronto. He has worked in wilderness therapy and addiction treatment centers as well as schools and leadership programs for youth. He has also worked with Aboriginal men who have experienced homelessness in Toronto and multiple marginalized communities in Ottawa.\nOther projects he has played a key role in include Social Rec Connect and Christie Lake Kids.\nIn addition to his work in individual counseling and coaching in private practice\, he is the founder of Essential Change and teaches as an instructor for the Applied Mindfulness Meditation Certificate Program at the University of Toronto\, Continuing Education\, Faculty of Social Work.

SUMMARY:His Holiness Long Life ~ Mani Mantra Recitation Initiative - Yeshin Norbu
DESCRIPTION:His Holiness Long Life ~ Mani Mantra Recitation InitiativeTrusting this finds you all very well.\nYou are warmly invited to join the FPMT community in this very special His Holiness Long Life ~ Mani Mantra Recitation Initiative\, where students are invited to recite the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra. The total of all the recitations will be offered to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on the 6th of July for his 90th birthday.\nThe motivation of this initiative is to offer these mantras for His Holiness long\, healthy and stable life\, for the fulfillment of all His projects\, for world peace/universal compassion and to fulfill Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s wishes by offering our practices to His Holiness.\nThis initiative will be launched for Losar\, which this year falls on the 28th of February\, so you can start tracking your recitations from the 1st of March.\nTo join\, it’s very easy\, just write your name and at the end of each month write your total monthly mantra recitations in this spreadsheet\, this spreadsheet can be accessed from computers only\, not phones.\nPlease write the total of mantras you recite each month. For example if you recite one mala per day in March\, (if your mala has 108 beads) that would in total be 108 x 31 = 3 348\, then write 3 348 in the March column beside your name\, if you continue with your recitations\, do similar for the following months. You can join one\, two\, three or all four months. Make sure that by the 30th of July you have written down the total of your mantra recitations. Whatever you can is of great value!!!!\nThank you so very much!!!\nYeshin Norbu Team

SUMMARY:Meditación Paso a Paso: Sesiones semanales inspiradas en las 16 Actitudes - Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom

Topics include: \nThe Mind and Emotions\nKarma\nRebirth\nLove and Compassion\nThe Nature of Reality\nThe body of the course is composed of philosophy classes supported by meditation sessions\, all within a silent retreat environment. 10-day courses end with two days of intensive meditation to give you the chance to familiarize yourself with and gain insight into the topics that were covered in the teachings.\nAll teachings and meditation instructions are given in English.

SUMMARY:Events for April 2025 – Jamyang London Buddhist Centre
DESCRIPTION:Events for April 2025 – Jamyang London Buddhist Centre« All Events\nMedicine Buddha Puja\nApril 3 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm\nAbout Medicine Buddha Puja\nIn Person Only\nPujas are rituals in which consecrated offerings – such as food\, water\, light and incense – are made to an enlightened being for the sake of creating conditions for progress on the spiritual path\, as well as removing obstacles. These offerings are made alongside prayer and chanting.\nThe seven Medicine Buddhas\, attainers of bliss\, strongly prayed for the temporal and ultimate happiness of yourself and all sentient beings. They vowed that their prayers would be actualized during these degenerate times when the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha are in decline. As the buddhas’ holy speech is irrevocable\, you can wholly trust in their power to quickly grant blessings to help all sentient beings in these degenerate times\,” Lama Zopa Rinpoche instructs “If you pray to Guru Medicine Buddha\, you will quickly accomplish all that you wish. Just hearing the holy name of Guru Medicine Buddha and the sound of his mantra closes the door to rebirth in the suffering lower realms. It is written in the scriptures that you should not have a two-pointed mind (doubt) with regard to these benefits”.\nHow can I join?\nJust turn up!\nWe use cookies on our website to give you the most relevant experience by remembering your preferences and repeat visits. SUMMARY:Atelier avec vénérable Thubten Chodron (VIA ZOOM)
