Amitabha Buddhist Centre (ABC)
Amitabha Buddhist Centre (ABC) is a vibrant Buddhist center located in Singapore, affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT). The center serves as a place of learning, meditation, and community for those interested in exploring and practicing Tibetan Buddhism.
At the heart of ABC is a magnificent three-metre tall Chenresig statue, which forms the central object of meditation and inspiration in their Level 2 prayer hall. This remarkable statue was constructed on-site over a five-month period leading up to February 2016, with the process documented in a six-part video series called “A Thousand Hands.”
The center’s history and development was captured in a special documentary titled “The Heart of Our Happiness,” produced for their 25th anniversary celebration in 2014. The documentary highlights the central role of their Spiritual Director and guru, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, who has been the key inspiration for ABC since its inception.
ABC offers a variety of ongoing courses and prayer sessions throughout the year, with a regularly updated calendar of events available on their website. They also provide an online registration system for current and upcoming classes.
